MEASURE WHAT MATTERS

Bespoke metrics and tools

Your people measures & metrics are failing to give you the actionable insights required to drive the impactful change you seek.

Why seek our support?

Metrics, metrics, metrics. Businesses have evolved considerably in their pursuit of evidence-led decision making but many still struggle to translate people-related data into actionable results. This often occurs because organisations tend to measure everything that can be counted, which results in a ‘sea of metrics’ that are difficult to interpret as they are not sufficiently connected with the drivers of individual or team performance.

Blanket measurement of this nature can also lead organisations to over-rely on quantitative metrics which often lack nuance and therefore only offer a partial view of wellbeing and performance.

How can we help?

NBM supports clients to ‘measure what matters’ by reframing (and often streamlining) existing approaches and metrics to form part of a measurement-cycle that can effectively evaluate the drivers of Healthy High Performance (and conversely the drivers of exhaustion and burnout).

Our offer in this space is grounded in deep knowledge of evaluation and the associated design (and execution) of measurement frameworks that are focused, accessible and deliver clear, actionable results. Although there is no ‘one-size-fits-all' approach that can be applied in this area, as effective evaluation is context-dependent, we apply a core set of principles across all our measurement-related work. This includes immersing ourselves in your world to ensure we appropriately ground our work, building on and enhancing your existing approaches and metrics (where this is both effective and feasible), living and breathing the ‘less is more’ principle, and treating measurement as both an end-to-end and cyclical process.

Within our NBM work-life-lab we are currently developing V1 of our 'Org Work-Life Tool', which will provide organisation specific work-life insights that can be tracked over time.  As the tool evolves, we hope to partner with clients to co-create additional, bespoke modules that seek to assess and evaluate specific people-related challenges.

How is this a Brave Move?

It is sometimes difficult to challenge our established practices, particularly when they are very engrained or have required significant investment. The pursuit of continuous improvement encourages us to look hard at where we invest our time and resources. ‘Measure what Matters’ promotes the idea that we should only retain what is working well and be brave enough to reimagine what is not - measure less and achieve more impact.
